Where To Begin
[edit]Wondering how to edit this U.S. County Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Counties standards might help.
Police Misconduct
[edit]I reverted a few edits connected with police conduct. Please keep in mind that one of the things Wikipedia is not is "the place to settle your scores" or "the place to fight your fights".
Apart from that, all information that is likely to be challenged, must be sourced, according to Wikipedia verifiability policy.
But what really is likely to arouse the attention of Wikipedia editors is when you (by mistake, sloppiness or otherwise) overwrite part of the article makeup and cause it to appear on one of the error pages...
I'll be actively monitoring this page. Hope to see your constructive contributions. Debresser (talk) 23:08, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
See also Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Debresser (talk) 08:38, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
I wikified the section about police protection; removed address and telephone since Wikipedia is not a directory; moved section up next to section about fire protection, which seems a logic place to me; restored the "See also" section that the previous edit had overwritten. This overwriting thing seems to be a fixed feature of edits in this article. Editors please be carefull. Debresser (talk) 08:38, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

New Production Subpage
[edit]Removing Parks and outdoor attractions and County infrastructure sections to a new Production subpage. Why? This article feels too much like a travel brochure with advertisements. Patrickometry (talk) 18:02, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
Also, in an effort to bring some proportion to the various sections, I'm moving most of Police protection and Fire protection sub-sections as well as EMS, EMA and Central dispatch sections to Production. This information will be summarized under a new Public safety sub-section of a new Law and government section as noted in the new table of contents guide. Patrickometry (talk) 18:02, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
- The production subpage was nominated for deletion. It contains very old info I saved there in part as an archive. I take no issue with its deletion if no one requests that that info be kept for reference. If Wikipedia policies favor deletion, perhaps this stub could be kept and the deletion of the production page could be added here to clarify. Thanks! Patrickometry 22:11, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

Inclusion and placement of political data
[edit]I moved a presidential elections results table showing results from the last 100 years to the Demographics section and made the table collapsed by default. I also removed the Politics section as there were no other data sets.
I found a county in Indiana had a similar table included but under their Demographics section. I thought this was a fine compromise. However, it appears many Kentucky counties create a separate Politics section for this table. It does seem to provide insight into the political demographics of the county.. However, I like that this rather large table is hidden by default. Otherwise, perhaps it would be better added to the right column unless more political data sets are to be added to a more substantial Politics section. But should this info be included on this page in the first place? I see it is not a suggested section under Wikipedia's county template. Also, I reviewed a high quality county page (San Francisco) featured on Wikipedia and noticed it did not include political demographic data. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Patrickometry (talk) 18:47, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
To Do: Update Census Data
[edit]The quick facts section was updated to include the 2020 census data for population count. Thanks to the wikipedian who did that work! Other sections that mention county population may be outdated and need updating as well. I hope to look at that when I have more time, if no one else gets to it before me that is. 😊 74.132.20.120 (talk) 21:49, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
- @74.132.20.120 I didn't realize I wasn't logged in. I left the message above. I am 74.132.20.120. Patrickometry 21:56, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
- Would it be possible to change the orientation of the X-axis so that more current dates are on the right of the graph? Time is usually presented left to right in graphs. 128.163.8.61 (talk) 16:38, 7 February 2023 (UTC)
