The Right Honourable Grace Tyler is a Britannican politician and the first female Prime Minister of Britannica. She headed the most successful Conservative government in Britanican history with two successive victories, both with a strong lead. Despite eventaully loosing to a former defected cabinet minister, Robert Fawcett, she returned in 1982, only a year later, with a large majority. She was eventually toppled by a new intake of centrist-conservative MPs, in favour of her Defence Secretary, Edmund Carlosse.
Environment Secretary and Opposition
[edit]Tyler started her career as Environment Secretary on 1970 under Lawrence Slade. During her 5 years in office she improved her standing in the party and gained a reputation of being a no-nonsense thatcherite. When the Tories lost the election on the 3 August, 1975, it allowed a ladership election. Tyler won with a reasonable majority and begun making devastating attacks against the Royalists, calling them inexperienced and innefective. Eventually, on 26 December, 1976, an election was called and the Conservatives won an amazing lead of 17%.
Premiership
[edit]Tyler quickly began to reform the economy. She started a boom and bust economy, creating a lot of jobs but raising inflation. As war was very close, she made herself Chancellor of the Exchequer and Home Secretary at the same time, so she could keep control of the situation. Her control of the cabinet was more or less strong, and she had gained a huge amount of support from the whole country.
War with Carldenbrug
[edit]1978 saw a huge war with Carldenburg. Eventual European dominance destroyed Carldenburg and the victory was mainly attributed ot the Conservative Party and King James I. The victory in the war would make certain the result of the 25 March 1979 General Election.
Robert Fawcett and her second term 1979-1981
[edit]Robert Fawcett was a rising star in the Conservative party. He was Defence Secretary during the war with Carldneburg and ater teh re-election of Ms Tyler, was moved to the office of Home Secretary. Two months later he was sacked due to pressure on the prime minister from right-wing members. He felt snubbed and defected to the Liberals. He eventually took over the leadership of the Liberals and began attacking Tyler on the poverty campaign, which was rife in Britannica at the time.
