From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've been involved in a number of ways within Wikipedia:

  • creating articles, stubs, redirects, disambiguation pages, categories and templates;
  • expanding stubs and smaller articles;
  • participating in general Canada-related issues, including:
  • participating in the Wiki Syntax project;
  • filing RfCs as needed:
  • reverting and reporting vandalism;
  • minor edits, such as correcting spelling and grammatical errors;
  • minor functional changes, such as categorizing articles, or adding templates to them;

The Wiki Syntax project is somewhat boring, but does fix annoying problems in articles, especially articles with few maintainers. It artificially increases edit counts, so such edits should be partially discounted when considering edit counts (then again, it provides a positive contribution to Wikipedia, and does require some time commitments by the user). Many of these changes could be made by bots, especially for double and triple redirects.

I have stubbed or re-stubbed nearly 10,000 geographical articles, mostly Canadian, Japanese, Australian and UK locations, and also some related to the United States and Africa. This is the primary reason why I am rapidly approaching 20,000 edits.

Translations

[edit]

I've translated a few non-english articles. among them:

Copyrights

[edit]

I've salvaged some articles which were originally copyright violations. I'd have to go through my contributions to find out which ones, though. I've also nominated articles for deletion based on copyvio criteria:

I participate in Votes/Articles for deletion; I've nominated the following:

I infrequently contribute to Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Some of my nominations can be found here:

Silent participation

[edit]

I tend not to promote my activities, and frequently participate in projects without listing myself as a contributor or notifying the group (unless there is a need to do so, such as explaining a certain action). Here's a list of projects to which I have contributed without mention:
