Chronological systems of Babylonia and Assyria was proposed for deletion. This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was to keep.
At one time this was a duplicate of the obsolete material at Chronology of Babylonia and Assyria. Now that a number of us are developing a new article to address this topic at Chronology of the Ancient Orient, this page is no longer needed. Shall we delete this? (Depending on this vote, the article Chronology of Babylonia and Assyria may be proposed next at VfD.) -- llywrch 03:58, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- If this is superceded by another page, just redirect there. -Sean Curtin 05:17, Nov 25, 2004 (UTC)
- keep. but update. In the 1911 Britannica, "Chronological systems of Babylonia and Assyria" and "Chronology of Babylonia and Assyria" (now Chronology of Babylonia and Assyria/1911 were two different articles, the first giving background on the progress of Assyriology, the second the 1911 status quo. Both articles need to be wikified and updated. There is also Chronology of the Ancient Orient, which could take the place of Chronology of Babylonia and Assyria/1911. Yes it's a mess at the moment. It is a very complicated issue, and not easy to find up to date, uncontradictory information. Once we have sorted it out, Chronology of Babylonia and Assyria can just be a redirect to Chronology of the Ancient Orient, while Chronological systems of Babylonia and Assyria can remain the in-depth article. dab 08:47, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
