The result of the debate was - no consensus - SimonP 05:13, Mar 29, 2005 (UTC)
Question: Encyclopedic? This subject receives 226 googles. Contrast and compare to Shagrat which returns over 47-thousand googles. Should all non-notable science-fiction and fantasy related material be kept and/or merged, while other similarly notable non-fiction subjects ultimately be deleted? Discuss amongst yourselves. --GRider\talk 20:27, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Merge with other minor characters unless there's more to be said. I don't have a copy of The Return of the King handy to check. —Korath (Talk) 20:56, Mar 11, 2005 (UTC)- Keep, cleanup and expand. Megan1967 23:47, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Delete, LOTRcruft, no article here, I've read LOTR at least 4 times and this leaves me cold, move along... Wyss 01:56, 12 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Redirect to discourage recreation. Do not merge unless perhaps someone feels like adding a (necessarily brief) "list of Orcs named by Tolkien". I am generally all in favor of Tolkien-related articles, but this is ridiculous. -Aranel ("Sarah") 04:21, 12 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Redirect - I agree. - That list of Orcs actually exists in the form of the category Middle-earth Orcs.--Niels Ø 11:13, Mar 19, 2005 (UTC)
- Keep and expand. Collaboration of the week, maybe? I see featuring on the main page in this article's future! Everyking 09:22, 12 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- (That was a joke, just in case anyone missed it—keep or merge.) Everyking 12:25, 12 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Delete. Not notable even within the realm of LoTR characters. RickK 01:05, Mar 13, 2005 (UTC)
- Merge and redirect to discourage recreation. And that template so has to go - David Gerard 15:43, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Merge & redirect. —Markaci 2005-03-14 T 09:16 Z
- Merge as minor character. I've added the {orcs} template to TFD. Radiant! 13:47, Mar 14, 2005 (UTC)
- KEEP - Tolkien's orcs articles merit more development than the present wide spread use of journaling in Wikipedia to cover adult material. -- John Gohde 14:22, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Delete, nn fancruft. ComCat 02:43, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)
