Born on Oahu January 8,1989, I was named Gretchen Marie Engbring before being brought to my home, and waiting 18 month older sister, along Waikiki Beach. Our four person family later moved to the country near Olympia, Washington where I attended South Bay Elementary and took up a variety of activities including soccer and riding. I continued riding, both competitive and otherwise, at a nearby stable called Time Piece Arabians until our second move to my current home in Davis, California. After adjusting to our new home, I once again took up my active lifestyle, purchasing a quarter horse mare in continuance of my riding career. My time was spent mainly outdoors, especially during the summer, when my family would go hiking, backpacking, camping, kayaking, and a variety of other pastimes. Growing up around a variety of pets, I also spent a fair amount of time with them, and it was rare that we traveled anywhere without our two dogs. Today I've continued much of the same lifestyle, although education has begun to consume much of my free time as I attend school at Davis Senior High and Da Vinci High. I've also taken up the sport of rugby, playing now for my second year as wing on the Lady Devil Rugby Club. I look forward to summer and our annual vacations which have, in the past, taken us places such as New Zealand, England, France, Germany, Italy, and Greece. In the meantime, I'll keep myself occupied with friends, sports, and school.
