One of these should be renamed to match the other. Thryduulf 09:22, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Also, we Greeks should finally grok that the dangling zero in the area codes is not, really, part of the code. Just like the Athens code was 01 and now is 21, likewise Salonica was 031 and now is 231. The zero is part of the subscriber's number (all subscriber numbers in Greece had n+1 digits now), although it's irrelevant as long as you treat the area code + subscriber's number as a single entity. It's tragic to see, for example, that Athens has the area codes 210, 211, 212... the list will grow in the future up to 219. At some point in time, each greek city will have 10 area codes listed for it. Just plain stupid, if you think about it. tzot 00:04, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
I agree, officially 0 is NOT part of the area codes! Thus, Athens is 21 and NOT 210! There are already a lot of numbers in the 211,213,212,214 ranges but the area code is just 21! All the geographical numbers that start with 0 all over Greece are assigned to the former monopoly OTE, acutally it was this 0 that was inserted into the number in order to create the new ten digit numbers and open space for more competitors in the market! I will try to remove the 0's from the article since it is wrong to give the area codes with the zeros, the official area codes are the ones without the 0, Athens 21, Thessaloniki 231 etc.!
Pyrgos
[edit]The link to Pyrgos in "289x - rest of Heraklion prefecture" points to a disambiguation page. I guess it should point to Tylissos, but I am not sure, as there is at least another Pyrgos in the Heraklion prefecture, in Asterousia municipality. --Stegop (talk) 06:19, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
692 0xx xxxx
[edit]The 692 0xx xxxx series of non geografical numbers (marked with citation needed tag in text) seems to be deleted from the official eett page (http://www.eett.gr/opencms/opencms/EETT/Electronic_Communications/Telecoms/Numbering/search.html?cat=esa_non). I think it should be also deleted here. Regards Nikmix (talk) 05:49, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
