Childhood - no mention of slavery or his non-profit Challenging Heights

[edit]

Kofi Annan founded Challenging Heights in 2005, and according to the Challenging Heights Wikipedia article "Challenging Heights was founded by James Kofi Annan in 2005. James was trafficked to Lake Volta when he was 6-years-old and he spent seven years there in modern slavery. He managed to escape, return to his home in Winneba and put himself through school."

Why does the Early Life section of this page talk about the origin of his name and his upbringing in an aristocratic family? Surely spending much of his early childhood in slavery is worth mentioning at least, right?

This article says that he grew up in an aristocratic family. So which is correct, the Challenging Heights page or this page? How does this man have two different backstories? Reidjs (talk) 02:44, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed material from the Challenging Heights page. Given the lack of source's I am assuming it was incorrect about Kofi Annan. Thanks for pointing it out. Commander Keane (talk) 04:45, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
